For a blockbuster hit like the Pirates of the Caribbean, you would think that publishers would jump on the opportunity on the franchise's fame and rake in shiploads of moolah by porting it to all conceivable platforms possible.

But not Disney Interactive Studios. While Jack Sparrow and the rest of his crew will be basking under the sun across multiplatforms on U.S. shores, Japan will only find them exclusively on Nintendo platforms. That's right, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End will only be shipped for the Japanese Wii and DS.

QJ.net are just as clueless as to why Disney Interactive opted to embrace this strategy for Japan, but it seems that they are confident PotC: At World's End will do just fine, even without the help of the other platform versions. They will see just how much gold they'll be raking in with this double-edged move.
At first, Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End appears to be yet another mindless melee slog. You can get away with just swinging the Wii remote rapidly from side to side for several levels. Things begin to look dire as far as fun goes.

Then suddenly you encounter a pirate who will block every single one of your thoughtless swings. In a single moment the game has transformed into a true swashbuckler. Youve got to block attacks, time your lunges and swings, and use special defensive ...
Lets get it out of the way; Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End for the Wii is a different beast then the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. Its no where near as detailed as the high-res/def character designs or levels of its next-gen brethren. In fact, the game itself is entirely different, as it wisely focuses on what the Wiimote was suited for: sword fighting.

Based on a combination of the second and third Pirates films, At Worlds End also takes some liberties with the story, as it fills in ...
