Overlord Dark Legend ultimately falls short of feeling as evil as it intended, but there's some fun to be had in the Fable/Pikmin mesh of a game. Well, at least for the short time that it takes to complete the main story.

At Codemasters’ Gamers Day 2009, we were given a chance at a sneak peek on three new titles in the works based on 2007’s twisted fantasy action adventure, Overlord. The grotesquely charming Minion horde is back as these games begin and continue the story of the original Overlord, written by its award-winning games author Rhianna Pratchett. All games are scheduled for release in June 2009.

Captain Olimar and his vegetable army have been noted for their absence so far on Wii, but elsewhere in this console generation the Pikmin concept found an unlikely home on Xbox 360, PC and PS3 with Codemasters’ Overlord. It’s a cross between Pikmin’s gameplay and the fantasy world of Fable, and now it’s heading for Nintendo – presumably before Miyamoto manages to create a remote-powered version of the real thing.
