-Okamis director, Hideki Kamiya, stated recently:
"The last male character I want to touch upon is Issun in Okami. He isn't a playable character, not to mention you don't really see him during gameplay (LOL), but I think that people who have cleared Okami realize that he was a great main character. Conceptually, Issun is a childish character who manifests this immaturity in his extreme perversion and foul mouth; however, he is also a good-hearted, loyal, and compassionate figure. As Okami is an adventure game, Issun holds a special place as the character with the largest number of lines I have ever written, and as you move through the game, I think he is also the most fleshed out of my characters. Among all the characters I have created, he is the only character that hasn't been used by another creator, and even now, he is a character whose story I feel I'd like to continue some day."

"This is pretty interesting. In the past, some comments made by Capcom representatives didn't exactly make it seem as though Okami was doing too well on Wii in terms of sales numbers. However, comments from Capcom Product Manager Colin Ferris indicate that the the game "definitely did well" after all.
This is what Mr. Ferris said about Okami on a recent Inner Party podcast.
'As for the Clover IPs, we did just release Okami on the Wii. And it did have some very good success on the Wii. It definitely did well. So we were excited about that. As for revisiting some of them [Clover IPs], you know, I can't rule anything out but we don't have anything planned.'"

Acclaimed Okami designer Hideki Kamiya has expressed frustration with publisher Capcom's decision to omit the original development team credits from the United States version of Ready At Dawn's Okami Wii port.
When Okami players asked this question on the official Capcom.com messageboards last week, Capcom's community manager Seth Killian explained:
"The credits were removed because they were a pre-rendered movie that contained the Clover logo. We have no legal right to use the Clover logo in a game they were not involved with directly. We also didn't have the source to the credit movie itself, so we couldn't just use it and remove the Clover logo."
