NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams, the motion-sensitive Sega dreamworld adventure, will feature a two-player mode and online play from the day it hits shelves. It'll also revive the Artificial Life system, last seen in the original NiGHTS on Sega Saturn, enabling you to capture, raise and combine creatures.

Our Sega-obsessed staffer reckons that NiGHTS would work best in two-player as a score-hunting race through the game's many levels. As opposed to, say, the face-off multiplayer in the original NiGHTS that saw you attempting to loop around your opponent.

But concrete details are, well, non-existent right now. We're hoping the two-player mode, given it's going to be online and (we imagine) split-screen, will be a substantial feature, and not just a five-minute timewaster. Fingers crossed for full co-op 'campaign' play.

We've also got a brand new trailer featuring not only the iconic jester in flight, but the two dreamy-eyed, slumber muffins the game centers around. It all looks quite beautiful, and far less creepy and crappy as NiGHTS previous movie. Hit play below to see what we mean.
