If you picked up NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams shortly after its release in December, there's a good chance you've finished the game up and put it on the shelf. Not so fast, though. Sega revealed to 1UP today that they have hidden some fun bonus stuff into the game that can only be viewed at the right time of year. These special changes happen within the My Dream portion of the game where players raise A-LIFE (artificial life). Each month, A-LIFE will celebrate the season in a unique way.

With the UK release of NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams just a week away, we thought we'd dust off our Sega Saturn and see just how similar the new game is to the 1996 original. It's highly possible you've never heard of NiGHTS into Dreams, as the Saturn was steamrollered by PSone back in the day, but the original game is widely considered to be one of the finest videogames ever made. Want to see what they look like compared to each other? Well - see for yourself in our three

Speaking to German site G-wie-Gorilla.de, Iizuka said that while it may not have started out life as a Wii game, developing Journey of Dreams for Nintendo's machine had been the right choice and that any future NiGHTS games would appear on the Wii. When we decided to finally make a sequel to NiGHTS, we didn't know which console it would be for, he recalled. We only decided later on that we would develop the game for the Wii. But I think it was a good choice ¿ should we make another instalment, we would make it for the Wii.

Via Ripten: I'm a simple man. I hail from a small town, I do my grocery shopping at a small ma and pa store, and I'm perfectly happy with an analog stick that allows for eight directions. Such isn't the case with one NiGHTS fan, however.

1UP Staff, 12/23/2007: We really should hate attending the Jump Festa videogame and comic show. But the promise of Square Enix titles making their playable debut is way too much to pass up. At this year's event, open to the public on Saturday and Sunday, Square Enix was once again the main attraction for the videogame crowd. With the promise of playable debuts for the Final Fantasy fighting game for PSP, Final Fantasy: Dissidia, the new DS Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days, and the new mobile Final Fantasy IV spinoff, Final Fantasy IV: The After. This year's showcase had Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy XIII sandwiching short clips of the Parasite Eve mobile sequel and the Blu-ray version of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. In addition, Sega, Capcom, Bandai Namco, Nintendo, and Microsoft all have booths at the Jump Festa this year. 1UP's report briefly covers all of them.
