Marvelous Entertainment announced yesterday a final release date for the latest entry in its Valhalla Knights series of RPGs. Valhalla Knights: The Eldar Saga will arrive on October 8, priced at ¥7,140.

This first Wii entry in the series is an action RPG with an epic story spanning two generations. Players can create a custom character, with over 100,000 possible part combinations, and team up with other players for multipalyer play via Wi-Fi Connection.

Europe - Ubisoft Q1 release dates (Victorious Boxers Challenge)

Game Front has a list of Q1 release dates for Ubisoft titles in Europe. The list includes titles for PS3, PS2, PSP, Xbox 360, Wii and DS. It also has price information in Euro. The list is dated 18 January, 2008.

No sooner had we announced that 10Tcle Games was breathing new life into the Ready 2 Rumble Boxing series on Wii, that another new boxing game based on the punch-heavy sport has been announced for the console. This time it's XSEED Games, whose Victorious Boxers: Revolution will be making its way to the virtual ring at the end of September.

Unlike the aforementioned Ready 2 Rumble which demonstrates an arcade-y approach to the sport, Victorious Boxers: Revolution promises realistic boxing action in an anime style, with intuitive controls that make full use of the Wii Remote and Nunchuck. XSEED promises that you'll be able to perform jabs, straights, uppercuts and hooks, as well as defensive manoeuvres such as ducks and sways.

UK Virtual Console gets Donkey Kong Country (Victory Run - Virtual Console)

The UK version of the Wii Virtual Console has just gone live, and we've discovered a few significant changes from the its North American counter-part.

Apart from the puzzling swap of all of the game graphics, the UK version of Nintendo's download service has one title that those chaps across the pond can't get their hands on; the excellent SNES platformer Donkey Kong Country.

However it's not all good news for UK Wii owners; the recent US update to the Virtual console which added Donkey Kong Jr., Victory Run and Mega Drive titles Ristar and Columns - with the exception of Victory Run - doesn't seem to have made its way to our shores.

Nintendo UK was unfortunately available to comment on when we'll be getting these currently US-only Virtual Console titles, but we'll be sure to let you know when they get back to us.

Keeping its promise of new Virtual Console releases each Monday, Nintendo is today adding a further four titles for your delectation.

The titles are the NES port of the arcade game Donkey Kong Jr. (500 Wii Points), TurboGrafx racer Victory Run (600 Wii Points), Puzzler Columns (800 Wii Points) and Ristar from the SEGA Mega Drive (800 Wii Points).

Expect more updates to the US Virtual Console next Monday. The European Virtual Console goes live on Friday, which also happens to be the day the system launches across Europe.

CVG writes: "Virtua Tennis 2009 for Wii will hit shop shelves on June 19, Sega has confirmed - a week after the launch of the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which is out tomorrow.

The game features two motion control options - one that uses just the standard Wii Remote tech as you swing to hit the ball in time with an on-screen gauge, and an enhanced control option that uses the MotionPlus add-on to replicate your exact swing motion in the game.

The PC version's still down for June. The PS3 and 360 versions are out now..."

At an event in London today, Sega confirmed to Strategy Informer that Virtua Tennis 2009 will be released on 29th May for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with a Wii release following in June.

Virtua Tennis 2009 Delayed: Now Serving in June (Virtua Tennis 2009)

According to information just released by an admin from the Sega of America forums, Virtua Tennis 2009 will be delayed one month and now will be shipping in early June. Although there has been no official word on the delay (and the official website still shows May 2009), the admin mentions Sega is probably polishing off the Wii version.

The Wii version being completed pushes back the PS3, Xbox360, and PC versions as well. Hopefully the delay allows for more content to be added and better online experience (for PS3/360).

N4G Note: Interestingly, the Wii version will now compete with Tiger Woods 2010 during that release timeframe, and both are sports titles featuring Wii MotionPlus.

Kilts in a twist as Andy Murray labelled 'English' by Virtua Tennis (Virtua Tennis 2009)

SEGA has been left a little red in the face, which pales literally to some of the red faces in Scotland over *their* Andy Murray getting pinned as English.

According to Tam Coyle, a Tartan Army spokesman, this error "is a new low." SEGA is working to fix 'the issue' in Virtua Tennis 2009 to prevent a flood of angry accents getting louder.

Sega has said the Wii version of Virtua Tennis will include everything from the other formats such as modes and content along with online play and thanks to Wii MotionPlus, won't need you to use buttons... Interesting, it's out in May for Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3.

Sega has announced what is perhaps one of the biggest third party Wii games to date this week. TechRadar can also confirm that the new Wii version of the mighty Virtua Tennis WILL also make use of the new Wii MotionPlus controller tech.

While Sega and Nintendo's UK spokespeople remained schtum on the matter, TechRadar's un-named source confirmed that Nintendo's much-improved motion control tech will be used in the third-party tennis game from Sega, making it one of the first third-party games to make use of the new tech.

TechRadar will be amongst the first to preview Nintendo's Wii MotionPlus tech, which will be making its debut in May this year on Nintendo's very own Wii Sports Resort, in addition to Sega's Virtua Tennis and – no doubt – a welter of other Wii titles soon to be announced.
