Political correctness is once again breathing down Capcom's neck as the developer is forced to remove the Muslim phrase "Allahu akbar" from the upcoming Wii adventure, Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure. Wii - Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure - Capcom Removes Islamic Phrase From Wii Game The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has announced that publisher and developer Capcom has agreed to remove a common Islamic phrase from its forthcoming Wii title Zack & Wiki after receiving complaints from CAIR and others.

Said CAIR communications coordinator Amina Rubin, "We appreciated Capcom's willingness to address Muslim concerns and applaud the company's swift and appropriate actions."

Wii - Zelda II: The Adventure of Link - Virtual Console - Is Mysterious Zelda Character Anthropomorphised Sword? As is the norm in the gaming world after an important announcement, gamers are already excitedly exchanging rumours regarding the latest Zelda game, details of which were released by Shigeru Miyamoto at a behind-closed-doors conference a few days ago.

The most prevalent of these rumours, however, seems to be the theory that the blue female character is actually an anthropomorphised form of the Master Sword, based on the gem inset into her chest and her hood which seems to resemble the tip of the blade. This could also potentially explain why Link is not bearing any kind of weapon in the art.

Wii - Zelda II: The Adventure of Link - Virtual Console - Zelda II Marks 100th virtual console release Nintendo announced this morning that it's going to be putting Zelda II-The Adventure of Link on the Wii's Virtual Console channel June 4 to mark the download service's 100th title. The company says that more than 4.7 million games have been downloaded from the Virtual Console since the service was launched in November. That's more than 1,000 games every hour. According to Nintendo, the top five downloads are Super Mario Bros., Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Super Mario World and The Legend of Zelda. With all that Mario action, couldn't they have marked this milestone by releasing Super Mario 3? Of course not.
