Wii News | Little King's Story
Aug 30, 2007 A few months back CVG spoke to Harvest Moon creator Yasuhiro Wada, who teased with details of his secret "Project O" for Wii, but it's not a secret anymore as the lid finally lifted on what looks like another fantastically unique creation to put on his resume. Wii News | Lost: Via Domus
Originally announced in a press release back in May 2006 for PC and next-gen consoles, the game tie-in to cult TV show Lost has been mysteriously enigmatic since with not a single screenshot or piece of game information being released. In fact, we'd probably have forgotten about it almost entirely had Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot not mentioned it was still very much in development to a room full of journalists at a press conference last month. Strange then, that Lost is absent from Ubisoft's ...

Wii - LostWinds - WiiWare - UK developer: Game degrees 'a waste of time'

David Braben has slammed British gaming degrees, claiming that developers are finding it increasingly hard to find UK graduates looking to enter the industry.

"95% of video gaming degrees are simply not fit for purpose," Braben told the BBC. "Without some sort of common standard, like Skillset accreditation, these degrees are a waste of time for all concerned."

Wii News from N4G | LostWinds - WiiWare
Wii - LostWinds - WiiWare - LostWinds blows away WiiWare rivals in Europe GamesIndustry.biz writes: "Nintendo of Europe has revealed that Frontier Developments' LostWinds is the current most-downloaded title from WiiWare in Europe - followed by Gameloft's TV Show King and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King from Square Enix.

European marketing boss Laurent Fischer revealed the early top-sellers during an exclusive interview with GamesIndustry.biz, where he talked up the potential of the firm's new games download service.

He said: "We're not communicating on precise figures - this is confidential - but LostWinds has the highest download level in Europe. And then you have the other titles which come close by, like TV Show King and of course Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles."

WiiWare, which launched in Europe on May 20th, is Nintendo's response to Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade service, and Sony's PlayStation Network, and Fischer said initial activity had been "encouraging"."

Wii News from N4G | LostWinds - WiiWare
Wii - LostWinds - WiiWare - Frontier pleased with On the day that Nintendo's WiiWare service launches across Europe, developer of LostWinds David Braben has told GamesIndustry.biz of the "exceptional" response the game has received only a week after it went live in the US.

First unveiled at GDC 2008, LostWinds has been a launch title on both sides of the Atlantic, and Braben is confident the title will do just as well across PAL regions as it has in North America.

"'Pleased' is an understatement," he said of the reaction from critics and fans.

"The reaction has been exceptional - from both reviewers, which is very pleasing, and also the user reviews are extremely high ¿ we've also had very many people who have taken the time to email us directly with their entirely positive feedback, which is very appreciated," commented Braben, boss of Cambridge-based studio Frontier Developments.
