Dead Space: Extraction will be the first game released under Visceral Games, the developer has revealed.
EA has released some new screenshots from the upcoming Dead Space Extraction game. These screenshots demonstrate how the targeting reticule changes according to the weapon. Looks like the reticule with the 3 horizontal dots is the Plasma Cutter and the Pulse Rifle is indicated by the 3 dots in a triangular position. You can see the gauges at the side of the reticule that show the ammo level.
VG247: "Worried Dead Space: Extraction's violence will be diluted for Wii? Fret no more. It isn't.
NintendoDpad reports:
Hell Descent Writes "EA has started an online survey for Dead Space with some interesting multiplayer based questions. We received the email in our inbox with the exciting "You've played the game…Now Tell Us What You Think" email. The survey asks what kind of modes do you enjoy, would co-op be a fun addition and if Zero-G deathmatch sounded like a fun multiplayer type. Luckily the survey made sure to ask more than just multiplayer based questions. The survey continues to ask about new function and how to improve the scariness. With these kind of surveys it good to know that EA is looking into a Dead Space sequel/prequel.
Sounds like there may be a playable demo coming for Dead Space Extraction. A hint was dropped from EA's Dead Space Twitter account, isaacclarke: "Did walkthroughs on 3 Chapters in the game. We also reviewed our super secret special Demo build......guess it's not to secret anymore....".
Following up on a recent story on Dead Space Extraction, here's a few more bits picked up on the Wii game from the April 2009 issue of Game Informer (the one with BioShock 2's Big Sister on the cover). Steve Papoutsis, the Executive Producer on Dead Space Extraction, has called the game a "Guided First Person Experience". What sets it apart from the standard on-rails shooter game? Here's a rundown of the unique features you'll find in Dead Space Extraction:
Though quite a number of people were disappointed with the announcement that Dead Space: Extraction would be an on-rails shooter, it's clear that the development team is trying to bring a unique product that to the Wii. Based on that alone, fans should definitely be excited about this game. There's also some great news for those who have high expectations: The Extraction team's goal is to "push the boundaries" of mature games on Wii.
Don't call it an "on-rails" shooter. Steve Papoutsis, the Executive Producer on the Wii's Dead Space Extraction, says it is a "Guided First Person Experience" and adopting new gameplay mechanics to the traditional "on-rails" game.
