Gameplayer are reporting that the Wii has finally scored its third-party killer app, with the current issue of Ultimate Nintendo rewarding the game with the top score.

Wii - de Blob - De Blob dev: 'Wii HDD would be awesome' Speaking to VideoGamer.com de Blob lead producer Nick Hagger said that while the team didn't need a HDD for de Blob there are "loads of things we could do with it".

Hagger's comments come as speculation surrounding a possible Wii HDD release reaches critical mass. Earlier in the month a Nintendo job posting revealed the Japanese firm was seeking staff who have experience in developing software for USB.

"It's always good to have more storage space available, but we didn't need it for de Blob. I think it would be awesome if there was an HDD for the Wii; there are loads of things we could do with it. Let's keep our fingers crossed," said Hagger.

Wii - de Blob - THQ confirms fiscal 2009 video game line-up THQ has today unveiled the key titles that will form the publisher's fiscal 2009 video game line-up. Scheduled for release in the 12-month period ending March 31, 2009 are a range of new editions to existing franchises, new original games and social and party titles.

Gamers can look forward to new editions of multi-million unit franchises, including Saints Row 2, Red Faction: Geurrilla and WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009. All new video game titles on the way include Darksiders: Wrath of War, Deadly Creatures and de Blob. Additionally THQ plans to release new social and party games for the Wii, including Battle of the Bands and Big Beach Sports.

Wii - de Blob - Destroy All Humans, Frontlines delayed until 2008 THQ has regretfully announced today that three of their major titles will be pushed back in to 2008. Destroy all Humans: Path of the Furon for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Frontlines: Fuel of War for PS3, and de Blob for the Wii and DS were among the titles being delayed.

The low sales of Stuntman: Ignition and Juices 2: Hot Import Nights may have something to do with the new release dates.

Wii - Deadly Creatures - Deadly Creatures heading to Wii for THQ A new Rainbow Studios project's just been announced, namely Deadly Creatures for Wii. To be published by THQ in 2008, the game i s all about surviving in a "venomous world of desert terror", apparently.

"Players will follow the entwined adventures of an armored scorpion and a stealthy tarantula as they struggle against a variety of creatures including vicious Gila monsters, tarantula wasps, black widows, and the most dangerous predator of all ¿ Man."

That's Man with a capital "M". Rainbow Studios has previously worked on some very big stuff, including Cars, so this is likely to be a big deal for THQ.
