With the [Wii] game, because of its accelerometers and a position-pointing device in the actual remote, we've freed the player up. Call of Duty 3 was officially confirmed this morning by Activision. The latest chapter in the World War II shooter series is currently in development for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 2 and Xbox. All versions are due to be released this fall. Wii - Call Of Duty: World at War - Call of Duty: World at War Limited Edition Revealed Treyarch has revealed details about the Call of Duty: World at War Limited Collector's Edition, due to ship alongside the game when it launches on November 14th.

The Limited Collector's Edition comes packaged in a metal storage tin big enough to store multiple games in. So if you were ever looking for a solution to transporting all of your Call of Duty's together, here it is.

The only other physical item included with the limited edition is a branded steel canteen. The other bonuses are all digital items to use in game, including the powerful FG 42 Machine Gun being unlocked from day one, a VIP status tag for use in the online multiplayer modes, and an exclusive double experience week.

So far we've only seen shots of the Xbox 360 and PC Limited Collector's Editions, so it's unclear as to whether it'll be available on other platforms.

Wii - Call Of Duty: World at War - Call of Duty: World at War Release Date and Beta  Announced It looks like there is a double dose of news coming from the folks behind Call of Duty: World at War. Today Activision announced the release date and another special surprise via press release:

"Boot camp will soon take on a new meaning, as Activision Publishing, Inc. and developer Treyarch, have confirmed plans for Call of Duty: World at War multiplayer betas in October for the Xbox 360(R) video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and separately for download on Windows PC. These betas will serve as an early chance for players to practice the tactics needed for survival in the intense chaos of Call of Duty: World at War's Pacific and European theaters. Players will experience the game's new squad system, as well as fan favorite perks and kill streaks.

All preparation for the full battle will commence on November 11, 2008 when Call of Duty: World at War is released to retailers nationwide.

"We are excited to share a sneak peak of Call of Duty: World at War multiplayer with the community," says Mark Lamia, Treyarch Studio Head. "The team has worked hard to build upon the great history and foundation of Call of Duty multiplayer and we can't wait to go online to ramp up for our November launch."" -- Activision Press Release

Wii - Call Of Duty: World at War - CoD5 is better than CoD4, vehicles and attack dogs confirmed The first part of that title is purely subjective, but according to the article in the upcoming issue of GamePro that reader Mobius0077 posted in TVGB's Community Discussions area it is entirely true. That's right, the subheader of the article claims that from the time they spent with Call of Duty: World at War it is actually better than Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. After reading the article and pretending it wasn't a total fluff piece TVGB can see where they're coming from.
