The Simpsons Game for PlayStation 2 has finally managed to take out the top spot in the Australian game charts -- seven weeks after its initial release -- according to data trackers GfK Australia. The DS version of the game also made it into the top 10, taking out the seventh spot.
To celebrate the first anniversary of the Wii, Nintendo has sent out an interesting fact sheet to the Canadian press that shows some of the achievements that the Wii has made in reaching out to the mainstream audience. Some of them were expected, some of them were surprising, and they all prove that gaming, at least for Nintendo, is reaching a whole new level.
Nintendo revealed six first party-published Wii games that have sold over a million copies worldwide on October 26. IGN reports five out of the six:

Some noticeable releases this week include Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer on just about every platform. Tenchu Z sneaks up on Xbox 360, while your brain doesn't get a summer vacation with the release of Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree for Nintendo Wii and PQ 2 on the Sony PSP.
On June 16 Nintendo will be hosting Wii Father's Day Challenge at Nintendo World Store in Rockefeller Center, New York. The challenge will pit father-son teams against each other in Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree. Nintendo awards and prizes will be handed out throughout the event.
