Wii's Virtual Console service may offer more than just a back catalogue of illustrious games as Nintendo toys with the idea of making new, original games available via the online service.
"There are other secrets of the Virtual Console that we won't reveal until we get closer to launch," Nintendo of America man George Harrison told online attendees of the company's annual Camp Hyrule event. "Virtual Console offers the possibility for us to create new games," he

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess on Wii will only be playable with the console's motion-sensing remote and Nunchuck, Nintendo has confirmed, meaning you won't be able play any of the game with a conventional controller.
Although it was known that certain aspects of Twilight Princess would be playable with the Wii-mote - specifically bow and arrow aiming and shooting - it was assumed by many that the majority of gameplay would be handled with a more traditional

Why, oh why aren't we industry analysts instead of underpaid website editors? According to our companion site NextGen, the brilliant minds over at Boston's gifted think tank Yankee Group have predicted that the PlayStation 3 will hoist the victory flag in this generation's console war, edging the Xbox 360 and soundly trouncing third-place Wii - by 2011.
Granted, the prediction itself isn't even a little brilliant - it reads suspiciously like exactly what happened this
MotoGP skids into PSP, crashes
In a move that should shock only the slowest-witted, Namco Bandai has announced yet another long-running PS2 series for the PSP. Following in the footsteps of Ridge Racer, Ace Combat and Tekken, MotoGP will show up this fall with all of its far-too-difficult and faintly dull motorcycle racing action no doubt intact. Eight player wireless races are in offing, but no clear determination has been offered by Namco Bandai on whether the game will be local or online -
Though there's still no official list from Nintendo, several publishers have commented on their potential Wii launch lineup. If all the claims are to be believed, we could be looking at 28 games within the first month or so. Remember that "launch" doesn't necessarily mean "Day One," and some of these games arent going to make it by the end of the year, let alone launch (Crystal Chronicles, we're looking at you). Regardless, here's a tentative list we've pieced together:

Nintendo Wii and DS games could soon feature an intriguing voice-recognition system that can read and analyse your speech.
Analysed text can be displayed as text on other players' consoles during multiplayer games with the tone of your voice altering the colour, size and font of the text, according to a US patent held by Nintendo.
As you speak, the system picks up on your voice pattern - shout "I WIN!" and it will appear in big red capital letters; whisper and it'll be

The launch line-up for Nintendo Wii could be one of the biggest in the history of consoles if third party publishers come through with their support.
A total of 27 games have been announced as being on schedule for Wii's launch, which is an amazing amount when you consider that GameCube launched with 12 games and Xbox 360 launched with 20.
The total comes from the number of games that have been confirmed for the Wii launch by the games' publishers, rather than being an
According to our sister site Next Generation, a PSP price drop to $149 may well be in the cards. Sony's handheld been getting spanked by Nintendo since the DS Lite was introduced, and high-paid analysts peg the company as likely to slash $50 from the system's price this fall. Well, those godawful thumb theater commercials can't be helping sales, but saving more than the price of a new game might... particularly now that gamers have to buy a Memory Stick, too, since the accessory-laden

Developer Marvelous is bringing its wonderful farming RPG adventure Harvest Moon to Nintendo Wii.
Most of the farming work will be carried out using the console's motion sensing remote; fields have to be hoed, plants watered and crops harvested all by carrying out the equivalent movements with the Wii-mote, according to Japanese games magazine Famitsu.
Harvest Moon is a beautiful game, where the objective is to manage a farm over a number of years and interact with the

In a Newsdump first, we're linking to ourselves. Today, we brought you the first images of the PlayStation 3 in the same room as the Xbox 360 - perhaps even doing naughty things together (they're much closer than we ever envisioned.) As Neo GAF poster Wario64 eloquently pointed out, "It's huge lol" - the PS3 is significantly larger than Microsoft's new console, in a distinct role reversal from the prior generation, when the original Xbox threatened to crush the PS2. We're
