Wednesday 12 April 2006 Word has just reached us that Polish developer Nibris has announced Sadness, a totally black and white, utterly mysterious game for Nintendo's Revolution console. We're failing to make any sense of the press release issued for the announcement, so we've published it here, in full, for your brain-fizzling delight: "Exclusive Nintendo Revolution title Sadness will be fully... black and white! "Nibris decided to follow Nintendo's path, which definitely fights the

Even though gaming's largest trade show has come and gone, there was no mention of Nibris' off-the-wall Wii title Sadness. Exactly what kind of game this black-and-white creation will be, we're still not sure, but these new screens shed some light on what you may be doing. A few of these screens show the lead character holding what appears to be a black Wii wand. Nibris wants to draw players into the game's dark, moody world, and if Maria here is actually using a wand, that could be the trick.

The funny thing about inventing a genre of videogames is that, until it becomes completely played out, every game that emulates your formula is going to be attached to your name. Games that feature a wide-open, freely explorable world, for example, will have a hard time avoiding the label of "Grand Theft Auto clone," especially if their worlds are littered with vehicles to steal and drive. In the six years since Grand Theft Auto III, a slew of games have tried to become "the next GTA," but so

Leave it to the point-and-click wunderkinds at Telltale Games to throw an all-star party like this. As gleamed by today's not-so-cryptic trailer on GameTrailers, Telltale Games has announced plans to unite the likes of Sam & Max, Strong Bad, Penny Arcade's Tycho and Team Fortress' 'Heavy' for one upcoming unnamed title. The trailer features silhouettes of the cult-gaming icons in question prefaced by the words: “Bet you never thought these guys would get together.”

Truthfully? It's never crossed our minds. Ever. But you can bet that we're interested...

Oct 25, 2007 It's possible you missed Samba de Amigo when it was on the Dreamcast - after all, it required maraca peripherals. Naturally, a game where you hold two objects in your hands and shake the crap out of them is perfectly suited for the Wii. And so Sega is bringing the old favorite party game into the next-gen, marking a return to the genre that is now ubiquitous, but was still pretty novel when the original came out. Along with Amigo the sombrero-toting monkey and hopefully some

Box art for Sega's rhythm action game Samba de Amigo has emerged online, complete with a revealing little icon up in the top-left hand corner for Nintendo's new 'Pay To Play' service.

The 'Pay To Play' logo is a new indicator that at some point content will be available which will not be covered by the retail price.

Nintendo technical expert Takashi Aoyama said last February that Nintendo would be "collecting fees for some

We hear his name is Rot, and that his eccentricities are infamous amongst game collectors. We hear that this is just what he does. We hear his U2 cover track. We see a god.
