Weekly Xbox 360 sales jumped phenomenally in Japan during the week ended November 4 to outsell Sony's rival next-gen console.
The latest data from Media Create shows that weekly Xbox 360 sales rose from 3,718 to 17,673, while PS3 sales fell slightly to 17,434. The rise in 360 sales is most likely attributable to the successful release of Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation, which sold almost 80,000 copies in its first week on sale to enter the Japanese software chart at No2.

But that hasn't stopped publisher, Namco Bandai from jumping on the healthy bandwagon with Wii Fit as they recently announced Active Life: Athletic World (working title) for the Wii at the Tokyo Game Show.

For those who never played it, ActRaiser is a unique quest that blends action and platforming with a simulation, god game mechanic. You take control of the Master who has to rebuild his fallen Kingdom that's been conquered by The Evil One.

Four new retro titles have arrived on the Wii Virtual Console, the most notable of which is the excellent Genesis adventure Landstalker: The Treasures of King Nole.
For the ignorant, it has you play as elvish treasure hunter Nigel (yes, Nigel) as he undertakes a quest to gather treasure through the villages, caves and dungeons of Mercator Island.
Joining Landstalker (which is the usual 800 Wii points, by the way) is NES side-scroller Adventure Island, obligatory TurboGrafx

After listening to what was called an “exciting” earnings call by someone who’s listened to far more than I have, a few interesting facts can be gleaned from Take-Two’s second quarter earnings call to investors (and media obviously). After the publisher crowed about just how awesome Red Dead Redemption is doing in sales and critical response, they mentioned the biggest downer of the call, which was Max Payne 3 being delayed again, this time out of fiscal 2010. For non-business smarty-pants, this means sometime after October 31, 2010. Whether that results in it being a big November title or if it’s going to slip into 2011, they wouldn’t go into any more details, but don’t expect to touch this one any time soon...
In an age when print is on the run from digital media, Time Magazine and its year-end awards are still noteworthy. The big news today was the publication naming Mark Zuckerberg Person of the Year, because apparently they only heard of Facebook after seeing it in a movie this year, but the periodical also posted their top ten games of the year.
