Every console fanboy’s most favorite/dreaded time of the month has come again. The NPD sales chart is here and with it comes news of the frontline on the console war, at least for the US side. Though Nintendo DS seems cemented in the top spot, the number one home console in the second month of 2010 was the 360. The Wii was close behind it, with PS3 in trailing that by a small margin.

Nintendo has finally announced that it plans to again release demo versions of WiiWare games in North America... but the usual Nintendo caveats apply. Only a few WiiWare games will offer demos, and even when Nintendo does put up a free demo, it'll only be available "for a limited time."

There's a growing tendency of late for companies to buy up succesful PC homebrew or casual games and dump them onto every system they can. The results usually range from uninspired to disastrous, but sometimes they rock. flOw on PS3 is captivating, Line Rider looks great, and Blast Works could be fantastic. Just-announced Blast Works for the Wii will let you create your very own side-scrolling shoot-'em-up thanks to what the game's publisher Majesco describes as "easy-to-use, multiple in-game editors."
