West Coast Customs, the auto shop made
famous for building dream machines in the show 'Pimp My Ride,'
recently joined Nintendo at the LA Auto Show to roll out two life
sized and fully operational racing karts based the cartoony vehicles
featured in the upcoming Mart Kart 7 for the 3DS. No word yet on how many big-screen TVs and turntables can be found in the trunk, or if they put a copy of Mario Kart 7 inside the kart so you could play Mario Kart inside of your Mario Kart...
It's been quite the eventful week in gaming, so why not check out what
our sister sites and publications thought of the biggest happenings?
There's loads to choose from, from cringe-worthy chat-up lines readers
of ONM would aim at Zelda Williams to Hideo Kojima revealing that Snake
really should have kicked the bucket in MGS4. So here's our pick of the
best from around the GamesRadar network:
This week, Marvel Super Hero Squad: Comic Combat hits the Wii, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, utilizing THQ's uDraw tablet. In order to defeat Dr. Doom, players need to literally draw their own attacks on the tablet, really taking advantage of the whole "comic book" vibe. Also tapping into the veins of the comic industry is the comic book covers that appear before each chapter, acting as title screens for the upcoming level. We have an exclusive look at each of these covers, and we've come up with completely unfounded predictions as to what they may be about. Take a look!...
BioWare has released a single, solitary piece of game art teasing its yet-to-be-announced project, which is slated
to be unveiled in full during Spike TV's 2011 Video Game Awards
(VGA). It may not be much to go on, but we can say with absolutely
certainty that the mystery project will have something to do with
vehicles, clear skies, crashes, and a poor dude wearing a bullet
In case you somehow missed the media blitz that was last
year’s Spike Video Game Awards, it’s a bit like a mini-E3 filled with B-list
celebs and terrible award show banter. Honestly the winners hardly matter
compared to all the trailers that premier there. Last year we got our first
glimpses of Skyrim, Mass Effect 3 and Uncharted 3, and the year before they
revealed Arkham City. Now we already know that the Dec 10 event will have at
least three big announcements, with the reveal of an Alan Wake sequel, BioWare’s
next game, and the first time we’ll see Metal Gear Solid: Rising since E3 2010...
Nintendo is on track to report its
first ever annual loss come the end of its 2011 fiscal year.
Today, the company told press it expected to post losses of 20 billion yen
($264 million) by March 2012, marking a unenviable first for the
company since it began releasing its numbers back in 1981...
As Sesame Street so wisely put it cooperation makes it happen,
so as strange as it must be for all the Sonic and Mario fans to see, the
upcoming London Olympics game starring the pair has the former rivals working
together almost as much as they’re competing. Sure, the two can square-off in
sumo wrestling and bicycle races, but they can just as easily work together. In
today’s gameplay footage you’ll see them collaborate in sports as diverse as
crew, volleyball, and even synchronized swimming...
The Olympics takes the competition between athletes from all
the world’s nations very seriously, while the idea of a fat plumber competing against
a human-sized hedgehog is inherently ridiculous. It’s with that hilarious
juxtaposition in mind that we’ve been watching the various Mario & Sonic at
the London 2012 Olympics trailers, and this newest video is the craziest yet.
Watch this footage of the game’s new party mode that takes Mario and Sonc’s posse to
the streets of London...
The Wii is reaching the end of its lifespan, which means it’s
going through some changes that includes being repackaged with new coloring and
features. We already saw proof of it during Gamescom this year, as Nintendo revealed an updated Wii for Europe
that cut things like the vertical stand and GameCube compatibility. Following
that trend Nintendo revealed another Wii revision, this time a light blue Wii
that comes with Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympics Games...
Today Nintendo revealed the next four classic Wii titles to earn the "Nintendo Selects" treatment - Super Paper Mario, Mario Strikers Charged, Punch-Out!! and Super Mario Galaxy, one of this generation's best games period. As of August 28, each will be marked at $19.99 and semi-ruined with gawdy red packaging. Serious (i.e. anal retentive) collectors should hit stores ASAP to scoop up the remaining white-boxed copies marked down to $20 before the Selects versions are all that's left!
