Sega believes that Mario and Sonic at the Olympics will sell 4 million units, equaling the feat of the original Sonic title released in 1991.
Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, which goes on sale for Nintendo Wii in November, will pit Nintendo and Sega's flagship characters against one another for the first time, and Sega believes it has a sure-fire hit on its hands.
Bloomberg reports that Masanao Maeda, a corporate director at Sega's gaming unit, forecast that the title will

Thanks to previously released screenshots we know that hurdles, triple jump, hammer, archery and, of course, the 100m dash will all feature in the upcoming Wii and DS title, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, when it's released in November. And now, thanks to a new trailer, Sega has shown off a few extra Olympic activities that'll be on offer.
Mario, Sonic and their pals will also be competing in the high jump, javelin, swimming and table tennis as they fight for the title of
People rose to their feet, the band began to play and there was much rejoicing: Rockstar triumphantly returned to our offices with its newest build of Manhunt 2. In case you've been laid out, coma-stricken under a rock with no electricity, you've probably heard tell about the drama surrounding Rockstar's latest survival horror nightmare. Sadly for gamers with Xbox 360 and PS3 shooter The Club on their Christmas lists, the game has slipped to early 2008, Sega confirmed today. We must admit, when we last saw the game in action it didn't look very near to completion (although that was a few months ago). Nintendo and Retro Studio are messing with your minds, as Nintendo says it's not developing a 2D Metroid game, despite hints in the latest Wii game, Metroid Prime 3.
Rumors of a 2D Metroid for DS, entitled Metroid Dread, ran rife at E3 2005 with the game supposedly turning up on a leaked release list, and later turning up on "insider"

Nintendo's flagship shooter Metroid Prime 3: Corruption has debuted with a bang, taking the top sales spot in the all-format chart and even outselling 2K's awesome Bioshock in its first week.
Metroid managed to shift over 400,000 copies in total, which must be big news for developers ogling at Nintendo's console and proves that traditional "hardcore" games can still sell on the home of Wii Sports and Cooking Mama.
With Wii releases thin on the ground, Metroid's unlikely to be

Upcoming Wii title, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, will pit the two gaming superstars, along with some of their friends, against one another in a number of events ranging from hammer throwing to swimming.
A gold medal in the art of projecting a pointy stick towards a multi-coloured circle of hay, or Archery as its more commonly known, will also be on offer. And weve filmed Luigi getting some practice in before the main event.
