For a time of peace on earth, theres going to be a lot of stress and killing around this Christmas. Just think about this winters biggest games. Whether its COD4s visceral gunfire tearing apart wall and limb alike, the bloody back-stabbing business of the always-hounded Altair, or Kane and Lynch just being plain old sociopathic, the jovial festival of light and wonder really is looking like a quite brutal one this year.
We need a way to combat this, and preferably one which

Gaming is an up and down experience. Some years cram top quality titles into our every orifice until were bursting with videogame joy and have excess polygons dripping messily out of our ears, while some other years… Well, some other years are 1983.
In 2007 though, weve had a very good year indeed. A scarily good year in fact. One which has provided us so much brilliance on every format that its a genuine worry that the laws of karmic balance will soon bring us a plague
Abe Lincoln. Charles Darwin. Edge. Between them they’ve mastered the realms of politics, science and writing about overweight Italian plumbers. So if you’re mad for Master Chief, delirious over Deus Ex or want to dip
Every console fanboy’s most favorite/dreaded time of the month has come again. The NPD sales chart is here and with it comes news of the frontline on the console war, at least for the US side. We’ve gotten a lot of mileage out of Uwe Boll’s films here at GR, so much so that it almost feels like beating a dead horse to bring up the lucky hack’s name. Though every person who mocks him should at least see one of his films to really understand what a horrible artist he is, Boll’s film adaptations of videogames are infamous to every gamer online whether they’ve seen the films or not. Japanese developer Hudson Entertainment will be including a flight game for Revolution in its line-up for this year's E3.
The game is currently being referred to as 'Flight Game' and will allow players to control planes using the 'gesture function' of the Revolution controller, then take planes through stunt sequences and bombing runs.
Also in its line-up for E3 is another Bomberman game called Act Zero, which will be released for Xbox 360, and an update of the Dungeon
We sort of thought the Guinness Book of World Records was a collection of definite, measurable achievements. Like, that's pretty much everything it represents... or not - the latest edition of the Guinness Gamers' Edition contains a list of the top 50 game series, not by total sales or anything factual like that, but as determined by a poll. It's horrific.
See the whole list inside...
