Need for Speed ProStreet

Motion controls and blistering pace - NFS is back to winning ways

While the Wii's ProStreet may not be the next-gen looker, the ramshackle visuals perfectly fit the grittier tone and rags to riches progression. Plus the racing is solid, regardless of platform. But after prolonged play we realized that our enjoyment had been replaced by OCD - we were playing the races just to unlock new equipment and areas. It’s not that the excitement stalls, it’s just that the routine of dipping into race days to earn cash to spend on your car and doing it all again triggers the completist in you, until eventually having the best motor is the most important thing of all.

You'll love
  • Slow-mo crashes are spectacular
  • Can gain serious speed in some races
  • Modifying your car is as addictive as ever
You'll hate
  • Needlessly complicated menus
  • Can't tune car on race day easily
  • Can't create your own racer
