Mercury Meltdown rises on Wii

Archer Maclean's inventive puzzle game gets tilt-sensitive

Atari has announced a Wii-exclusive version of PSP puzzler Mercury, called Mercury Meltdown Revolution, due to be released in the Spring next year, and complete with tilt-sensitive controls.

"The Mercury series was originally developed with a tilt controller in mind," developer Ignition has explained. "The Wii has made this possible and the outcome provides the player with unprecedented control and accuracy."

We actually got to play the PSP version of Mercury back when gaming legend Archer Maclean had it packaged with a USB tilt-sensor - and it was an entertaining, Super Monkey Ball style experience. With over 150 levels to roll through, Mercury Meltdown Revolution looks set to be the ultimate version of this innovative and addictive puzzle game.
