Mario Kart Wii

With the recession, it's not even a given that games characters will keep spending. So we've designed some adverts for them showing off their power-ups in an irresistible light...

It may not be Halloween just yet, but you can at least start prepping yourself early. To help get you in the mood, we’ve brought together some of our favorite Halloween-themed content from across the gaming spectrum in one video. Only a few games over the years have actually taken place on the last day of October (although) some MMOs like to live it up with awesome Halloween celebrations, but plenty of gamers have picked up the slack by creating their own custom content with mods for some of their favorite games. We’ve pulled together some of the best of both, sotake a look and re-live some old favorites (or discover some new ones)!

Wondering which racing / driving game to buy right now? We've compiled the top 10 best driving games from the past few years in one helpful list. You can't go wrong with any of these winners. Keep an eye on this page for updates as new games come out...

More more more! Sequels need more! But not just more of what you already liked, NEW things! New things that are DIFFERENT and look good on the back of the box! Or maybe they don’t.

Puns are awesome. We know this. You know this. Donkey King Kong knows this. That's we've taken our two favourite things in the Solar System, namely games and movies, and mashed them up in the name of good punnery. So prepare to look at the Man With No Name and Tony Montana in a new light, as we blend famous film characters with gaming's finest heroes.

Nintendo's Reggie has just revealed that the company is still inundated with Hollywood offers of movies based upon its franchises. Games like Metroid are solid-gold no-brainers, but Nintendo also has a much wider pantheon of characters to crib from. And thinking about it, that pantheon throws up the stuff of cinematic nightmares.

Please Nintendo, if you are going to license out any movies, don't make them these...

It's official: we can now pay pretty girls to play games with us. As appealing as hitting Halo 3 on Legendary with a buxom blonde sounds, we'd rather spend our cash elsewhere. Like say, hiring Joe Pesci to take part in the most murderously competitive game of Mario Kart ever. Think that sounds awesome? Wait to you see the other famous folk we'd gladly pay to get our game on with.

Are video games art? Well, one could argu... screw that. We're not even going to attempt to enter that minefield. Clearly, though, with a bunch of concept drawings from the likes of Dante's Inferno and Jet Set Radio being framed and displayed in a swanky San Francisco hotel this week, some people think they are.

And that got us thinking. What if some of the greatest works of art ever had video game characters crow-barred into

Has HD wonderment improved your favourite games? Or just screwed them right up?

It's safe to say that Mario is still the most famous game character in the world, and when a new game comes out, it will sell millions. But with the release of New Super Mario Bros Wii drawing fresh attention to Mario, we'd like to focus on the other, less-famous Mario brother and let you understand his virtual life. Though often featured in some of the greatest games of all time, Luigi mostly stands back while Mario takes all the credit.
