The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Zelda uses Wii for sword fighting

[Wii] First confirmed details of how Twilight Princess will use the Wii-mote

Monday 8 May 2006
Details of how Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will take advantage of Wii's motion-sensing controller have emerged ahead of Nintendo's E3 conference - which takes place tomorrow - confirming a variety of uses for the ingenious wizzy-wand Wii-mote.

Players will be able to use the Wii controller for sword fighting, fishing and aiming a bow and arrow, although the hands-on article in Time magazine doesn't mention whether these pursuits will be Wii-mote compatible throughout the adventure or just at scripted Wii-specific moments.

The continued delay of Link's latest adventure has given many gamers cause to grumble, but if Nintendo has - as it seems - been using the extended development time to ensure that the game features a significant amount of worthy Wii-compatible pursuits, then we're confident it'll be more than worth the wait.

Tomorrow's Nintendo conference - which kicks off at 5.30pm UK time at the Kodak Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard - is sure to reveal more Twilight Princess info. We'll be there, so you won't miss a thing.
