Harry Potter's latest videogame outing continues to dominate the UK charts - no doubt thanks to the recent launch of the film to which it ties in and last Saturday's release of the final book in JK Rowling's witches and wizards series.

However, it will face stern competition this week from Transformers (number two All Formats, number one on PS2 and Xbox 360), with the live action film in that famous franchise set for general release this Friday.

EA has just launched the official website for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix videogame. While Joystiq only grudgingly admit their penchant for Potter and pals, this latest game looks like it might contain real magic after all. Sandbox-style mission-based gameplay "inspired" by GTA lets you explore Hogwarts on your own schedule, reliving moments from the book along the way. The Wii version of the multiplatform game looks especially interesting with its motion-sensitive spell casting.

EA has launched a fancy new website for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The website should be enough to please any Potter fanatic as it's littered with screenshots (some of which you can see right here), trailers and other things for you muggles to do while you wait for the final book. EA's recreation of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will boast a new gesture-based spellcasting system that lets you perform magic with motions on PS3 and Wii.
