It seems like everyone has heard about the faceplates for Guitar Hero III, but we've yet to see them. XboxFamily has gotten hold of some images showing the first six faceplates that will be released for the PS3, Wii, and Xbox360.
With the impending release of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, Activision has released some new goodies from the game. Goodies like a handful of new screens for new Wii & Xbox360, two minutes of gameplay footage and controller photos for all systems.

Speculation on the state of wireless guitar controllers for the upcoming release of Guitar Hero III has been in flux until today; RedOctane announced that all bundles of the game with controller for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii will include wireless controllers. This was further confirmed by the release of the game's box art, shown below. Note the 'New Wireless Guitar' label on the front of each box.

In a shocking reversal of previous news that Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock on Wii would not have its promised online multiplayer at launch, Activision subsidiary and publisher RedOctane clarified to Joystiq that the Wii edition will have online multiplayer when it releases in October.
Red Octane and Activision have announced that for $10 more, those who wish to pre-order Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock will receive $70 worth of Guitar Hero gifts including a faceplate, keychain, guitar carrying case, t-shirt, a custom strap, and a set of stickers.
In an interview with Joystig.com Kai Huang confirmed there would not be any online play for the Wii version of Guitar Hero III initially. No time frame is given when the feature would be implemented. He said there will be online play for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. Huang says, "There won't be online initially for the Wii, but we are working with Nintendo to see how we can get those features in."
Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello will appear as a boss character in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, joining the previously announced Slash from Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver. Rumored earlier in the week by a German brochure (reportedly from publisher Activision), Morello's appearance was confirmed today via a Rolling Stone blog post, in which the guitarist admitted that his real-life skills don't necessarily carry over when he plays the game.
