Prince of Persia backflips onto Wii
Here's sand in your eye
Thegaming world's most belovedPersian Prince is headed to a Wii near you. Thanks in part to the continuing success of Nintendo's little system that could, Ubisoft is set to bring Prince of Persia Rival Swords to the Wii in early 2007. As you could guess, the game's subtitle references, not only the game's story, but the intentions to make proper use of the Wii's Remote and Nunchuk to control the title character's trademarked wall-jumping, time manipulation and face-kicking, stab-a-thons.
Apparently, the Sands of Time have begun to corrupt our enduring, titular hero. But lucky for you, this means you'll get to fight through Babylon as two entirely different characters - the lighter, happier character from the first game in addition to the Dark Princefrom the Warrior Within.
Astute readers will have no doubt noticed that the gameis based heavily on last year's Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones. Let's hope that Rival Swords amounts to more than just a straight port of what's already available on Gamecube, providing a little more than just a new control scheme and a next-gen facelift.
The gameis scheduled for release this March, and as always, we'll keep you updated until then. Don't forgetto click the Images tab above to get a vague idea of how Prince of Persia: Rival Swords' controls will work.
