EA has released the first trailer of FIFA 08, the latest iteration of its best-selling soccer franchise. The teaser shows a player in Barcelona kit, running with the ball over 3D grass before burying a long-range shot. If it is representative of in-game animation on PS3 and 360, it looks as though the game will make use of animation-blending so movement remains smooth under slow-motion conditions. Wii - FIFA 08 - FIFA 08 Gameplay Info EA have released details on the Wii version of FIFA 08. The game has changed the camera from the common left-to-right gameplay, and instead have given us a bottom-to-top viewpoint, similar to Sensible Soccer. This is to make the controls feel easier to perform. Flick the Remote left or right to pass the ball left or right, and pull it up hard and fast to shoot at the ball - the harder you move the Remote, the more power the ball has. During a free kick, the angle the nunchuck gives the ball relevant spin. Throw-ins are done by holding the Remote and Nunchuck above your head and making a throwing motion. The Wii version also allows you to control your goalkeeper directly during the game.

Wii - FIFA 08 - Mii's invade FIFA '08 The latest edition of Nintendo Power magazine features EA's unique take on footy theme mini-games revealing some of the extras of the upcoming Fifa '08 edition.

Aside from motion controlled football, the Wii version features some Mii-heavy shorts including a rhythm based game where, with a flick of the Wii-mote, players can keep their balls held high. Foosball accompanies the ball action along with a penalty shootout where multiple players fire their balls at a poor goalie. After playing ball with friends players can unlock the ultimate in cheese-lifestyle: Ronald-mii-nho, yes, Ronald-mii-nho.
