World of Nintendo

Pikachu hats, kitty cats, and... Wii Fit tats?

Words: Martin Kitts, NGamer UK

17) Bangai-O maps
The internet is alive with the sound of screeching modem noises, and it’s all thanks to Bangai-O. If you’ve imported a copy, or you just like listening to the pure digital sound of retro games loading, searching for Bangai-O on YouTube will yield plenty of results. To get the custom levels and replay data into your DS, plug some headphones into your PC and play the resulting noise directly into the DS microphone.

18) Steam Boy
Somebody must have anticipated Greenpeace’s reaction to Nintendo’s icecap-melting domination of the games market. This is a Game Boy running off pure steam power! Actually, when we say ‘pure’ we mean ‘filthy fossil fuel burning’. Still, it’s a nifty way to stink out your bedroom.

19) Wii Fit tat
No sooner has Wii Fit hit the streets of Europe than the first dedicated Wii Fit tat has been announced (“tat” is a UK term for useless junk, not a tattoo - aw, and we were expecting something really pathetic). French brand Subsonic is launching a fitted dust cover, a rechargeable battery pack, a ‘micro fibre’ spray for removing disgusting foot residue and a bag for transporting the balance board. Why would anyone want to take it anywhere? It weighs a ton (and it comes in a box with a handle)!

20) Wii suit
Musician Tom Tlalin has created a suit that accommodates eight remotes and Nunchuks, combining their motion sensors to control electronic music in real time via body movements. Imagine the nightmare he must have trying to get that lot to sync up!
