GamesRadar Review
If you want to explore Hawaii without bankrupting yourself on costly cocktails and suntan lotion, you should do yourself a favor and check out Test Drive Unlimited. Although several landmarks and sites have been omitted, Test Drive Unlimited serves up a near perfect replica of the island of Oahu with pinpoint precision that rivals Google Maps.
Above: Here you see Kalakaua Ave in Waikiki, right across from the beach. They’ve even included the sheltered benches that sit between the road and the beach
Worthless Info:
- Hawaii consumes more SPAM per capita than any other US state. While you’re there, treat yourself to a heart attack snack with a Spam musubi. It’s a Japanese rice ball with a slice of Spam wrapped in dried seaweed.
- Hawaii hosts some of the slowest motorists in the world. Windy roads, laid-back attitudes and the second-lowest highway speed limit in the United States make driving in Hawaii a frustrating experience for anyone who’s not an octogenarian.
- Some linguists consider Hawaiian to be an endangered language. While residents frequently use Hawaiian words and phrases - like mahalo for “thank you,” or pilau for “smelly” - fluent speakers are a rarity in the Aloha State.
