Time traveling with Link

See how 20 years of adventuring has transformed Link from a tiny sprite into the man he is today

Words: James Jarvis

N64 had its first taste of Zelda in the form of Ocarina of Time, released in 1998, which was soon to be followed by sequel Majora’s Mask two years later.

This was Link's first apperance in 3D, and it was far from a disappointment, earning the coveted accolade of being the first game to be awarded 40/40 by Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu.

Ocarina of Time went on to sell 7.6 million copies worldwide after winning Game of the Year, Console Game of the Year and Console RPG of the Year at the Interactive Achievement Awards in 1999. What's more, it's often rated as one of the top five games of all time.
