Super Mario Galaxy

Super Mario Galaxy: One month on

100 hours later, and we're still not bored

Words: NGamer UK

It’s the detail that still makes us giggle at Galaxy at a point where we’d normally be bored of a game. See the way those bugs in the Honeyhive Galaxy frantically try to flee from Mario and end up on their backs? See the pitiful way a Cataquack drowns if you lead it to water? See the horrible glimpse at Mario’s skeleton if you die on an electric fence? See the way the Toads' little helmet headlamps can extinguish a Boo? This is how to create a world you want to revisit forever.

We’re just a month on from Galaxy. But we’re confident that in spaceyear 2027, it’ll be spoken of in the same awed tones as Super Mario World and Ocarina of Time. It’s hard to think how Nintendo are possibly going to top this for the next Mario adventure. But in the meantime, we’ve got a glistening jewel of a game that’ll keep our hearts jiggling excitedly for months to come.
