SmashRadar: Reader Theme Smashes

GamesRadar readers answer our challenge with five of their own

Words: AJ Glasser, GamesRadar US

Classic Mode
Special Conditions: Turn on mushrooms in the items menu. Handicap optional.
Characters: Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Bowser, (Peach/Daisy, non-playable)
Stage(s): Melee stage - Yoshi’s island

This was one of our favorites. Choose any of the original Mario Bros. characters (Donkey Kong counts) and let Player 4 be Peach. There are a couple of different ways to play Classic Mode, but the idea is the “bad guys” (Bowser and DK) are trying to KO Peach. For our match, we set Player 4 to a person and just let the controller sit on the table, but there’s nothing wrong with having an actual person play as Peach (as long as she doesn’t do anything except run away).

Remember: only pansies play this theme with Team Match rules in place. Penalties apply if you accidentally KO Peach.

Clash of the Titans
Special Conditions:
In Special Brawl, turn set the gravity to high, turn on metal bodies, and set size to giant.
Characters: Bowser, King Dedede, Donkey Kong, Ganondorf
Stage(s): Final Destination

The original idea suggested by a forum reader called for size set to mini - but it was way more fun to see ginormous versions of the slowest characters slowly KO-ing the bejeezus out of each other:

Above: The original theme name for this was “The Slows”
