PokémonRadar, Week 21
Four familiar friends branch out with new evolutions
Words: Darryl Vassar, GamesRadar US
Welcome to the 21st installment of GamesRadar's weekly feature, PokémonRadar.
This week, we'll look at four new Pokemon, all of which are evolutions of old Pokemon that already have evolutions. Every beastie in this week's motley menagerie evolves through new means, giving them alternates to their previous forms.
Next week we'll examine three new Pokemon, all prevolutions of existing Pokemon. Don't miss it!
Now, to the Pokémon!
English Name: Froslass
Japanese Name: Yukimenoko
Type: Ice/Ghost
Classification: Snow Country
Pokédex Number: 478 National
Ability: Snow Hide - Raises evasion in snow storms
Location Found: Evolved from female Snorunt w/ Awakening Stone
Useful Attacks: Blizzard
Our first new Pokemon today is stone-enabled gender evolution, using the new Awakening Stone. The frightening Glalie, the grimacing Ice/Dark hockey mask Pokemon, was deemed too masculine as an evolutionary destination for the female Snorunt, and so Froslass was born. While she may appear like friendly and warm animate kimono, Froslass is still a Ghost-type Pokemon and may harbor sinister intent.
