Pokemusings, week 23

Three Pokemon movies that suck

Words: Raymond Padilla, GamesRadar US

Pokemon: Jirachi Wish Maker

Plot: Ash and the gang attend a festival that celebrates the arrival of the Millennium Comet (guess how often it appears). The comet's coming coincides with Jirachi's appearance. The crew encounters Jirachi, who immediately bonds with Max. Meanwhile, an evil scientist, who happens to be a disgraced former employee of Team Magma, wants to harness the power of Jirachi to bring Groudon back to life.

Star Pokemon: Jirachi

Enemy Pokemon: Groudon

Why this movie sucks: Max is annoying. Jirachi's voice (in the English version) is even more annoying. With a plot that's heavy on Max and Jirachi, there's a good chance you'll want to shoot yourself while watching Jirachi Wish Maker. We cannot understate how irritating Jirachi's voice is. The movie also has a BS Groudon. It's a shame that Jirachi's voice is more aggravating than the sound of fingernails running across a chalk board. In terms of plot and cohesiveness, it's much better than the other two movies. That's how powerfully crappy Jirachi's voice is - it makes this movie our top choice for the worst Pokemon movie ever.

Above: Will the real Groudon please stand up?

Okay! All the garbage is out of the way. It's time for our weekly giveaway! To celebrate the craptitude of these Pokemon movies, we're giving away a Groudon and a Deoxys. For a chance to win these super-rare Pokes, head on over to our Pokemon general discussion forums  and look for a thread called "Pokemusings Week 23: Win a Groudon and a Deoxys!!!" Be sure to tune in next week when we'll go over three excellent Pokemon movies.
