Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire

Sometimes you have to slog through the beginning of a video game, hoping and assuming that the first level or two of bland and boring gameplay will lead to something better. Surely a game couldn't hit the market and sell for about $50 if it was really that dull and underwhelming? Unfortunately, sometimes first impressions are accurate. And the final word on Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire for the Nintendo Wii from D3 Publisher of America is that it's just as bad as it seems.

In a fantasy world devastated and scorched by powerful dragons, you will rise from the ashes a hero. But to fight fire with fire, you must find the pieces of the Dragon Blade - a sword that contains the soul and abilities of a dragon - and unleash a power unlike any seen before! Created specifically for the Nintendo Wii, Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire is a 3rd person action-adventure game where players unleash the supernatural powers of a magical dragon, creating a unique and visually stunning weapon through their sword and arms.

Just a little while ago, it seemed like the Wii might just be a gutter for Spongebob games and lazy PS2 ports. But things are changing - and that's good. Dragon Blade may suffer from a painfully generic title, but it befits the content of the game: a hack-and-slash adventure where your sword has been possessed by the spirit of a powerful red dragon. Better yet, the game looks to marry traditional adventure gameplay with Wii Remote control. We don't really know much about the story besides this

D3Publisher sends word that Land Ho is currently developing Dragon Blade: Wrath of Fire for the Nintendo Wii. This 3rd person action-adventure game will use an intuitive two-handed Wii control scheme to use both arms simultaneously to emulate the arms, wings, tail and fire of the dragon.
