At this point, it's no secret that the game has sold rather poorly, which would lead one to believe that the game has a small chance of coming stateside. Strangely though, an email from a Nintendo customer representative may indicate otherwise...
As could be surmised based on sales charts, Disaster: Day of Crisis has not sold very well at all. Nintendo producer Hitoshi Yamagami has stated that the game is "performing lower than expected."
The whole game, as most know by now, is completely voiced over in English. Yet believe it or not the game still has no release date in North America and the latest news is a strong indication that the game may never arrive in North American shores...

"Register your interest for the title in your Club Nintendo account, and if you register the included Stars code within two weeks of the game's release you'll receive another 50 Stars on top of the 250 Stars you get with the game. However, be warned - if you keep registering your interest for several titles but fail to register the code on time, Nintendo will come round to your house and destroy your computer with their proton packs, disabling your access to Stars Bonuses."

With seemingly no presence of Disaster at Nintendo's event, it came down to our crack team of covert journalists (they're the guys waving) to get to the bottom of things. And when they caught up with Reggie Fils-Aime, alongside Mark Bozan of IGN, the question was put forth to the Nintendo of America President.

He is going to be reading this very post upon which your eyes are laid, and he will be taking note of what people want to see in regards to Disaster (so no calling out for Captain Rainbow... though that would be good, too). If you're interested in having a Day of Crisis of your very own, then do respond below.
No one, including gamers, were not even aware that the game would be releasing this year until a few weeks ago. Even so, the game hasn't sold terribly in Japan. First day sales for the game have reported to be around 10,000. Other Nintendo titles include Knights in the Knightmare (DS, 10,000) and World Destruction (DS, 43,000).

Yesterday brought the news that Nintendo's oft-delayed 2nd party title Disaster: Day of Crisis, under development by Monolith, had been given a classification by Australia's Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC) ratings board. This has helped to renew hopes that the game will actually see release, since it seems likely that the board would only be asked to review and classify the game if it were on the verge of completion.

But, if you have been anxiously awaiting this title, this only intensifies an already nagging question: When will Disaster actually be released?

The OLFC have taken Nintendo's upcoming Disaster project and slapped a rating for it in Australian shores.
Suggesting a release shortly, after months of delays and no-shows, the action packed Wii-exclusive brings together natural disasters and a devious terrorist group out to take over the world. According to Vooks, Disaster: Day of Crisis has been given a content rating of "M" given the use of heavy violence, themes and infrequent coarse language.
But all hope may not be gone for the title which was first revealed all the way back at E3 2006. The game has just been Classified by the Australian Classification Board and given a big fresh M for Violence, themes and infrequent coarse language. So its nothing big but could Disaster be filling in a Holiday gap this year?

Once again, Nintendo has managed to shroud themselves in secrecy for this year's E3, leaving us all to guess their plans. The latest issue of NGamer, however, promises that Disaster: Day of Crisis will be at E3. And playable. There has not been too much information on the game as of late, the most of which only reported a delay in the Japanese release date. Since then, no new launch date has been scheduled and Disaster seemed to be heading for the vaults. But, if Nintendo does indeed have Disaster playable, this game - in addition to the the possibilities of Kid Icarus, Animal Crossing, Pikmin 3, and perhaps a new Zelda title - Nintendo will have a great E3 showing.
A release date has finally been announced for Japan. The game is scheduled to hit store shelves on July 3rd, 2008. In fact, when the hammer fell on Project H.A.M.M.E.R., some feared the worst for what some consider to be an endangered species these days: A new IP from Nintendo (with Monolith Soft, of course).

But every now and then, something drops to let us know that the game is still alive, and this time, it's a glimpse at the title from Famitsu, who reports that the game is due in the Land of the Rising Sun come July, when the sun is at its rising-est, and for the US and Europe? Just "2008." Gee, thanks. Maybe it'll be here in time to get swept up in the holiday frenzy.

Disaster: Day of Crisis ? July 3 / 6,800 yen (tax included)

If these dates are to be believed, it's quite possible that the North American audience will receive these games this year. Usually, games are released in North America a few weeks/months after they are released in Japan. So, it's definitely possible that we'll see these games fairly soon, or perhaps even before they come out in Japan.
November 16, 2007

For a game that includes city-decimating tsunamis and monster volcanoes spewing red hot lava at you, Disaster has remained remarkably low key.

Zentendo was recently tipped off by an extremely reliable source that Disaster: Day of Crisis is coming along very nicely, and some new details were divulged. With Project: H.A.M.M.E.R. being confirmed as cancelled recently by Famitsu, and no new media of Day of Crisis for over a year now, many feared the game was also being scrapped.

The Zentendo source has revealed that the scenario of the game has undergone drastic changes in the past year, which originally focused on the concept that natural disasters afford a group of terrorists the window of opportunity to steal nuclear weapons in the United States.
Wednesday 10 May 2006
The first details of Disaster: Day of Crisis - which was unveiled at today's Nintendo pre-E3 press conference - have emerged and shed a little more light on this intriguing new Wii title.

In the game, players assume the role of Ray - a former member of an elite rescue force - and must weather the storm as a barrage of natural disasters pummels the United States. The catastrophic game of cat-and-mouse includes racing away from hot volcanic rock and ash, dodging falling ...
The first details of Disaster: Day of Crisis - which was unveiled at today's Nintendo pre-E3 press conference - have emerged and shed a little more light on this intriguing new Wii title.
