From N-Europe.com:
What's going on with Disaster: Day of Crisis for North America?
Monolithsoft, the developers of Disaster: Day of Crisis, was originally approached by Nintendo back in early 2006 and was asked if the team could deliver an epic game in nine months, the time at which Wii would launch. Monolith accepted the task as is already known, but the team eventually hit a bump in the road...
Disaster: Day of Crisis has received almost no publicity. No one, including gamers, were not even aware that the game would be releasing this year until a few weeks ago. Even so, the game hasn't sold terribly in Japan. First day sales for the game have reported to be around 10,000. Other Nintendo titles include Knights in the Knightmare (DS, 10,000) and World Destruction (DS, 43,000).
Disaster: Day of Crisis has been released and both details and gameplay vidoes have been released from people who have purchased the game.
Nintendo have today unveiled their fourth quarter release schedule for both NintendoDS and Wii, including all first- and third-party releases, for the UK and mainland Europe. Along with the highly-anticipated Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City which was dated earlier today, highlights include Wii Music, Disaster: Day of Crisis and Professor Layton and the Curious Village. The full list is included below…
It's not typically an encouraging sign when a company hides their game from the press. Disaster: Day of Crisis has fallen down that path, but in this case, it doesn't necessarily mean the game is terrible. Actually, based on the first review from Famitsu, Day of Crisis might be much better than the average game...
Disaster: Day of Crisis has been given official release dates in Japan and Europe, but strangely, the gamers of North America have been left clueless when Monolith's title will launch. However, rumor has it that Disaster will be available in North America this November...
More details are starting to make an appearance concerning Disaster Day of Crisis which only yesterday was finally acknowledged by Nintendo with a commercial on the Japanese Nintendo Channel for Wii.
Nintendo of Europe recently revealed that Disaster: Day of Crisis would be released on October 24th. Now, a series of Japanese television spots have revealed that Japan will have the game a month earlier. So when does the US get it? Will it be in time to be the title for traditional gamers this holiday season?
Earthquake, tsunami, volcanic eruption, flood, hurricane... and the small matter of an ex-military terrorist group with their hands on some nuclear weapons - and all in just 24 hours?! Welcome to Disaster: Day of Crisis, the action adventure game on Wii from Nintendo and Monolith Soft., sweeping across Europe on 24th October 2008 guaranteed to bring out the survival skills in everyone.
N-Europe reports:
"Disaster: Day of Crisis is still in development," a Nintendo of America representative told Sports Legends on Monday. Unfortunately, the representative would not comment on a tentative release date or when Nintendo might divulge further information.
Yesterday brought the news that Nintendo's oft-delayed 2nd party title Disaster: Day of Crisis, under development by Monolith, had been given a classification by Australia's Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC) ratings board. This has helped to renew hopes that the game will actually see release, since it seems likely that the board would only be asked to review and classify the game if it were on the verge of completion.
The OLFC have taken Nintendo's upcoming Disaster project and slapped a rating for it in Australian shores.
When it was announced earlier in the year that Disaster: Day of Crisis was pulled from the release schdule a mere month before it was due for release many thought it was heading the way of Project H.A.M.M.E.R, canncelled. But all hope may not be gone for the title which was first revealed all the way back at E3 2006. The game has just been Classified by the Australian Classification Board and given a big fresh M for Violence, themes and infrequent coarse language. So its nothing big but could Disaster be filling in a Holiday gap this year?
Once again, Nintendo has managed to shroud themselves in secrecy for this year's E3, leaving us all to guess their plans. The latest issue of NGamer, however, promises that Disaster: Day of Crisis will be at E3. And playable. There has not been too much information on the game as of late, the most of which only reported a delay in the Japanese release date. Since then, no new launch date has been scheduled and Disaster seemed to be heading for the vaults. But, if Nintendo does indeed have Disaster playable, this game - in addition to the the possibilities of Kid Icarus, Animal Crossing, Pikmin 3, and perhaps a new Zelda title - Nintendo will have a great E3 showing.
DarkZero: Disaster: Day of Crisis, which was supposed to be released in Japan on July 3rd this year has been delayed. It is now set for release in an unspecified date in the country. This most likely means the US and Europe wont get the game until much later as well, possibly sometime in 2009 at best.
It has been a very long time, but there is finally some note worthy news to report on Monolith's most anticpated title, Disaster: Day Of Crisis. A release date has finally been announced for Japan. The game is scheduled to hit store shelves on July 3rd, 2008. Here's hoping the game doesn't get delayed and that it finds it way to our shores before to long.
The game has been a long time in coming since it was announced prior to the Wii's launch at E3 2006. In fact, when the hammer fell on Project H.A.M.M.E.R., some feared the worst for what some consider to be an endangered species these days: A new IP from Nintendo (with Monolith Soft, of course).
