After rumours that the title would launch in North America on July 1 emerged earlier on this month, Square Enix has now confirmed that Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon will in fact arrive Stateside exactly a week later, on July 08.

Sept 21, 2007 Square Enix has just unveiled the latest iteration in the Chocobos Dungeon series, Chocobos Dungeon: Toki Wasure no Meikyuu for the Wii. The games subtitle can be roughly translated as the Labyrinth of Forgotten Time and takes place in Ville, the City of Forgotten Time. The denizens of Ville have lots their precious memories, and itll be up to you to do some good ‘ol fashioned dungeon crawling to retrieve and restore them. Square Enix is releasing a brand new version of Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon (first seen on Playstation) for Nintendo Wii. Watch the first trailer, now!

It certainly looks cute, but thats just one part of a fully fledged RPGÂ¿ with Chocobo.

In the trailer that Square Enix requested that IGN not videotape or photograph, they could see that the game will feature a similar art style to that of the recently released Chocobo Tales on the Nintendo DS. Of course, the Wii game looks far superior with its sharper 3D engine. Gameplay will feature the same random dungeon, turn-based battles that the original brought to the PlayStation ten years ago, in a bigger, bolder production for Wii gamers. The adventure follows Chocobo on a quest to recover memories lost by villagers by a mysterious force, and the game footage showed these "memories" personified as shiny sparkly objects that will be collected throughout the gameplay.

TOKYO, Japan--Square Enix is going to be busy over the coming months--it has six new titles coming, including Chocobo's Dungeon: Toki Wasure No Meikyuu for the Wii, along with The Last Remnant for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, and two Star Oceans for the PlayStation Portable. The company announced the new games at a press conference at its corporate headquarters in Tokyo's Shinjuku district today. The event, attended by over 100 members of the worldwide press, was timed to precede the Square Enix Festival to be held at the Makuhari Messe this weekend. There, the Japanese publisher will be inviting the public to check out its current titles and get sneak peeks at upcoming games.

Square Enix has announced a new "chocobo game" for the Nintendo Wii called Chocobo's Dungeon: Toki-Wasure no Meikyuu (The labyrinth of forgotten time). The graphics are very similar to Square Enix's Nintendo DS title Chocobo Tales.
