Chocobo no dungeon: Toki-wasure no meikyuu

Chocobo's Dungeon [import] - new screens

Your favorite yellow mount returns for some dungeon crawling action on the Wii

Sept 21, 2007

Square Enix has just unveiled the latest iteration in the Chocobo’s Dungeon series, Chocobo’s Dungeon: Toki Wasure no Meikyuu for the Wii. The game’s subtitle can be roughly translated as the Labyrinth of Forgotten Time and takes place in Ville, the City of Forgotten Time.

The denizens of Ville have lots their precious memories, and it’ll be up to you to do some good ‘ol fashioned dungeon crawling to retrieve and restore them. Expect Toki-wasure no Meikyuu to sport the traditional turn-based battles and random encounters you’ve seen in previous Chocobo Dungeon titles, with some sweet new graphics added on as icing.

Japanese gamers will be able to start stomping through dungeons for lost memories and items on December 13, but there’s been no word about a version for US/UK audiences at this time.

Still, considering that Chocobo no Fushigina Dungeon 2 made its way to Western audiences less than a year later as Chocobo’s Dungeon 2, we’re expecting to see the new Wii title localized by the end of 2008. In the meantime, hit the Images tab above for the latest screenshots from the Japanese version.
