The Xbox 360 Gamefly members are having their way with the charts! Rainbow Six Vegas takes the top spot this week! Looks like people are anticipating the release of Trauma Center on the Nintendo Wii also. Surprisingly, Call of Duty 3 takes the top spot on the PS3 chart. I guess some people have actually bought the PS3 to play games instead of succumbing to the almighty dollar...
Activision today announced that the company's key launch games for the PLAYSTATION 3 and Wii have shipped and are now available at retail locations in North America.
And here's Best Buy's list of expected Wii games and when they should hit the store:
Hype unique controls, superior online play, and massive disc storage all you want; Siliconera reminds us that it's all about the games when selling a system by comparing and numbering exclusive titles per next-generation console. From the article: "Another arguable point is that all of the Wii's titles are 'gameplay exclusive.' Since the Wii has a its own control scheme, Call of Duty 3 is going to play quite differently on the Wii than it is on the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3. Activision has confirmed the UK release dates for Call of Duty 3. The game will arrive on the Xbox 360 on November 10, followed by a PlayStation 2 version on November 24, and the Wii version on December 1 - a week before the UK launch of the Wii. The PlayStation 3 version will launch with the system next year.
The PS3 could launch with 24 titles and Wii with 30 titles according to new documents detailing the two companies' plans.
Activision shows off a number of levels from all three next-gen versions of its WWII sequel, and Gamespot grabbed the controls to compare them all.
While the game will not be as graphically on par with the other versions, it is being displayed at 480p and in 16:9 widescreen. Like the GameCube, the Wii will only support Dolby Pro Logic II, but CoD3 is also fully compatible with that. The game will use the rumble pack, but will not make use of the controller's built-in speaker, as Activision will apparently not have enough time to incorporate it. Online play is out, and so is any form of multiplayer, and WiiConnect24 will not be utilized.
Fresh from GC2006 and also from chatting up Activision, CoD3 is shown and it is looking very sweet. As much as it pains me to say, CoD3 looks better than CoD2 by a good way. Some of the info from the event is as follows.
