VG247: Activision's Mike Griffin has said that the Call of Duty franchise has sold close to 14 million units in the series lifetime.

That's right. It seems that Activision have set up deals for Call of Duty: The Movie, the movie for the very popular video game.

The Xbox 360 Gamefly members are having their way with the charts! Rainbow Six Vegas takes the top spot this week! Looks like people are anticipating the release of Trauma Center on the Nintendo Wii also. Surprisingly, Call of Duty 3 takes the top spot on the PS3 chart. I guess some people have actually bought the PS3 to play games instead of succumbing to the almighty dollar...

Activision today announced that the company's key launch games for the PLAYSTATION 3 and Wii have shipped and are now available at retail locations in North America. The robust launch lineup features some of the world's most popular game franchises, including Tony Hawk's Project 8, Call of Duty 3 and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance for the PLAYSTATION 3 and Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam, Call of Duty 3 and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance for the Wii. Additionally, Rapala Tournament Fishing and World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions for the Wii will ship on November 22, 2006. These titles anchor Activision's holiday offerings, which includes games for both the next- and current-generation consoles and handheld platforms.

It might sound melodramatic, but by the looks of this new trailer for Call of Duty 3 on Wii, the motion-sensitive war will leave you just as physically exhausted as if you'd actually fought through the Battle of the Bulge, while bayoneting half of Nazi Germany's men folk in the process. Well, maybe it's not that demanding.
