Cheerleading is an extremely important and historic sport, beloved by fans around the world and totally deserving of not one, but two motion sensitive Wii games this fall. Personally, I can't wait to "spin, kick, jump and dance" to the "hottest music" and customize my "perfect competition outfit" to look "super cute"...

THQ's All Star Cheer Squad looks to follow Namco Bandai's We Ski/Family Ski as one of the first third party Wii Balance Board-controlled games on the Nintendo Wii. IGN recently caught up with developer Gorilla Games to see how its development was coming along, and it seems like they were pleasantly surprised, even calling it better than DDR's efforts on Wii.

ShellShock 2: Blood Trails is a violent, first-person, survival horror game set against the backdrop of the Vietnam War. Gameplay centers on the use of psychological horror and fear, relying on the power of suggestion, mood, tension and foreshadowing - implying the notion of danger, potential danger, imminent danger, and horrifying acts that have or are implied to have occurred or will come to pass. On course for war torn Vietnam, a plane carrying a top-secret cargo known only as Whiteknight is lost over the uncharted jungles of Cambodia. The special ops squad sent in to retrieve it disappear wtihout [sic] trace. Until, a month later, one of them walks out. Something in the darkness has driven him insane... Somehting [sic] from the darkness has followed him out...

Cheerleading game coming to Wii and DS (News)

THQ has announced All Star Cheer Squad will be coming to the Wii and DS this fall. The game will feature Wii Balance Board support and choreography from Tony G, the man responsible for Kirsten Dunst's moves in Bring It On and all its sequels.

According to THQ, this is also the first cheerleading game ever created.
