I'm digging reading all of these positive Wii memories. It's certainly left my 360 gathering dust for long periods of time. I digress. There's one odd thing in this story, concerning the competition; "They're going to be a hell of a lot more powerful than the Wii U when they launch." Considering how conservative they'll need to be with costs, the graphic ceiling approaching, and some reports that the Wii U is only 20% less powerful than Microsoft's next... I honestly believe we'll have a more traditional situation, where the least powerful machine is still in the same ballpark as the most powerful, and most popular dictates the tech behind most of the third party games. Just my opinion, but it's logical. Regardless, worst case, we get a slick machine that plays Nintendo's and some really great third party games? That's always a good buy. ;)

Yes congratulations you found out, this article was made to troll people. Instead of them stating rational reasons why they think the line up might be a let down they just decided to troll everyone with inflammatory statements. Though for me the line up is holding me back from getting it, the multi platform games i have either played or not interested, i stopped caring about mario once he went 3d so zombiU is really the only game i am slightly interested in.

if you're going to call anything that hasn't even come out "THE BEST THING EVAR" you deserve to be called a fanboy, no matter the product you're rooting for, simple as that. Secondly, "7 Huge games" (I took Epic Mickey 2 out because that's not a Wii U exclusive.) is a very bold statement, you're saying it as if every single one of those IPs were blockbusters, and they simply aren't. I'm not saying they can't be good, and I want to think most of them WILL be good, but I seriously any of them will leave the kind of mark that Super Mario World, FF IV or Soul Calibur left back when they were released. So, all in all, I can say that it IS a decent launch line-up, but in MY personal opinion, it could definitely be better. If nothing else because, let's face it, none of these games is on par with the clout of even previous Nintendo launch titles like Super Smash bross melee or Wii Sports (And no, I do not think for a second that Nintendo Land will be nearly as good or as important as wii sports.)

Console launches are truly magical, especially if it's a Nintendo console. Their fans are among the most loyal and loving, and it's a great feeling to be in line among so many people who share your level of excitement. Sure, the launch titles aren't mind-blowing. I'll admit that the Wii launching with Twilight Princess skyrocketed my general launch title expectations. But how often does a new console start out with a mind-blower? Devs have to find all the hidden talents of a new console before investing endless hours and big $$ on a triple-A title. Look at Brawl--now, that game was well worth the wait.

If I was to get one it wouldn't be till after E3 next year.

That actually just makes you a loser. Plain and simple.

I've bought every Nintendo console at launch since the SNES... so this will be the first time in over 20 years I HAVEN'T picked up a new Nintendo. It feels weird, but I just can't justify spending the money right off the bat this time around.

I will actually be buying the Wii U version of Assassin's Creed 3. And I agonized for a while whether to wait for Darksiders 2 (should have) but ended up getting it on the Xbox because of THQ's season pass offer.

I am a HARDCORE Nintendo fan, but their business model basically REQUIRES you to wait a year before the consoles get really good. Either a price drop (Most times), second iteration, or flagship title release(Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Starfox etc. etc.). So I wont be getting this until black friday of 2013.

"It is, because... You can finally put your Wii away (but can keep the accessories)" Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Wii U not backwards compatible with Gamecube games? I enjoy dusting off classics like Tales of Symphonia or Rogue Leader from time to time, not to mention the Pikmin games. I have a modest library of Gamecube games on my shelf, and this issue is what's keeping me from taking my Wii in to Gamestop for the the Wii U discount.

They've already stated it is not compatible with Gamecube Discs (although I'm sure they'll enjoy letting you buy them for download).

here's that reply you were looking for oh lonely one! is this enough to wank to? gonna cum all over my response? or does it require some obligatory insult about your fake apple fanboyism? Seriously though.. your pointless, pathetic, retarded, irritating, spasticated, revolting, putrid and horrific existence is as irrelevant as the iPhone 5.
  • avantguardian - September 21, 2012 3:15 a.m.

yeah, um...no thanks. that "controller" is an abomination, and should be burned on a stake.
  • Turtman - September 21, 2012 12:42 p.m.

You actually bring up valid pointz
  • Juicyfruit - September 21, 2012 4:11 p.m.

Aren't opinions great? Guess you have to be "ignorant" or a fanboy, or "too young" if you don't agree
  • BladedFalcon - September 21, 2012 4:23 p.m.

I love how people pull the "OMG why can't everyone just have their own opinion" card nowadays instead of coming up with actual valid, intelligent arguments. And sorry, but you can't even defend the above posts as "opinions" when they were clearly stated as if they were facts, thus inciting people to actually disagree with them if they don't consider them to be true. Any political correctness goes right out of the window when that happens.

DO NOT REPLY - OBVIOUS TROLL I'm going to keep doing this until the uber-noobs that can't figure out you're a troll stop replying. Jesus Christ, have any other you been on the internet before?
  • jennyleezy - September 23, 2012 8:20 p.m.

Wii U's an interesting piece of technology, but it isn't for everyone.
  • Broddeb - September 25, 2012 3:36 a.m.

I don't need 5 reasons to wait, just the one. Zelda. Until I see some pearly screenshots of that pointy eared gimp in HD its a no go!! Also interested to see how they will do a Mario Kart game with the Gamepad. I don't wanna be using the touchscreen to be flicking items with a hand that should be steering or pushing down the acceleration! A pixelated driver could crash!
