Nintendo announced today that two of its Wii Channels won't be ready to go on launch day. While you will be able to browse the Virtual Console on the Wii Shop Channel, weather updates from the Forecast Channel will be unavailable until December 20. The continually updated weather news will be provided by the appropriately named company, Weathernews.
Wii's News Channel goes live on January 27, with headlines provided by the Associated Press. It'll be interesting to see how many gamers actually use these features- they seem a bit more family-oriented than the explode-your-face content we usually see online. Oh, and you'll of course need a high-speed internet connection to access these features.
Wii is just days away, launching on November 19.
