Dan Aykroyd has been speaking to the Los Angeles Times about the upcoming third Ghostbusters film, and he's let a few interesting titbits slip.
For one thing, he's confirmed that most of the original cast - Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson and Sigourney Weaver - will be reprising their roles, and has also added that he's hoping for there to be a five-person group of trainee Ghostbusters, which would include some female members. "I'd like it to be a passing-of-the-torch movie," he's said. "Let's revisit the old characters briefly and happily and have them there as family but let's pass it on to a new generation."
As for who some of these female trainees could be, Aykroyd specifically named Alyssa Milano and Dollhouse's Eliza Dushku as possibilities, adding "I think they're amazing". And just to make things more interesting, Eliza herself has commented on the rumour through her Twitter account, saying "Ahh, just saw the article, Danny A's genius! There are so many ways I'd 'suit' up. GB's IS hot :)"
