Who owns the best game developers?

Above: This pretty graph shows how each publisher weighs up against its rivals, based on the success of its in-house studios

Nintendo! By a not inconsequential amount, given the method we used. Of course, there could be some anomalies, given we're working with averages of averages here.

For instance, EA has lots of fair-to-average studios that pull its score down. While the actually brilliant Rockstar gets a bum deal because of Table Tennis' limp performance on Wii, people not reacting well to Manhunt 2 and having problems with Vice City Stories. Add the less recent Bully or the (quite different) Xbox 360 Table Tennis, and it would be a different story.

But, crucially, any developer is only as good as its last game. Or, in this case, its last three. Nintendo's remarkable consistency puts it right ahead of the pack, with the sublime Mario Galaxy just another example of the Big N's reliable quality. Looks like the others need to pull their socks up...

"rockstar a 75%? wtf?" and "THQ so low???? 77%? really, you guys must have been drunk when you wrote this." Can i just point out that they didnt give them those scores, they are based on metacritic scores of the last three games that were developed (i think that was it anyway)... Suprised to see EA so low considering they own so bloody much, also suprised to see Nintendo come out in front, although not nessesarily dissapointed.

The main things wrong with this article are that 1.) HOW ON EARTH DOES A CRAPPY STUDIO LIKE EA BUY OUT AN AWESOME STUDIO (Criterion) THAT REALLY DOES GREAT WITH JUST ONE SERIES (Burnout): and 2.) WHERE ARE THE NEW DETAILS ON ASSASSIN'S CREED 2?!?!?! Thank you for your time.

Great article- One of GamesRadar's best. Mind you, Nintendo also own Monster Games (Excite Truck), HAL Labs (Kirby) and Game Freak (Pokémon). They've also just aquired Sora, (Sakurai's -Smash Bros. and Kirby- studio) and I belive they also own the ones who made Disaster.
