Which create-a-character is best for making Obama?

Obama rating - 4/10

The ears are kind of there, but no landslide-winning leader should ever be this glum or sweaty. Fail.

The Presidential verdict - "Not many folks spend a lot of time trying to be excellent."

Judging by this down-mouthed depiction of Barack the boxer, we’re inclined to think the President’s right.

Obama rating - 2/10

Bethesda continue their reputation for making fat-featured fugly characters by providing a create mode which makes the Prez look decidedly radioactive.

The Presidential verdict - "The fact that my 15 minutes of fame has extended a little longer than 15 minutes is somewhat surprising to me and completely baffling to my wife."

If he actually looked anything like this, we don't think the word baffled would be strong enough.

Obama rating – 0/10

We'd give credit to EA for rewriting the movie trilogy's history by letting you create a black mafia hood, but they ruined it by giving every created character, regardless of race, the same Fat Tony-esque Italian American lilt. And he's far too menancing to be cuddly old Obama.

The Presidential verdict - "No one is pro-abortion."

In this case Mr. President, we'd have to disagree.

Obama rating - n/a

Granted, we cheated with this entry by scanning Barack's face onto our created player, so we can't give this Obama a rating. It doesn't really deserve one either, considering it still doesn't look that much like him, even though it's actually his real-life face.

The Presidential verdict - "Another kind of threat lurks beyond our shores, one from nature, not humans - an avian flu pandemic."

Hmmmm. Now he mentions it, he does look a bit peaky.

Obama rating – 10/10

The perfect President Obama. Upbeat, with a timeless look and the ability to inspire hope out of apathy, Sackboy is Barack incarnate.

The Presidential verdict - “Greatest weakness? It's possible that I'm a little too awesome."

The most powerful sack on the planet is clearly way too awesome. C’mon, just look at those adorable bulging eyes, filled to the brim with optimism. And that cute little clip on tie just screams hope and idealism. Sackboy’s clearly the perfect recreation of Obama.

Fallout 3 is a mind-blowing game but the create-a-character was pretty lame. Every character sot of came out the same, but it doesn't really matter considering you never even see your players face in the actual game so hey, lame it up! the godfather II obama looks weird, i think you guys could of done a better job on that one the smackdown create-a-character is excellent and that obama looks great p.s. what the hell is with the COD 4 background for the Fallout 3 Obama?

You should have tried Saints Row 1 and/or 2. There's a lot of customization there.. or maybe Forza 2...

They missed two very big way you could've represented Obama: Guitar Hero: World Tour's character creation system and on the Wii, the Mii system. Idk why they even bothered to includethe Oblivion one, it's crap

I was hoping that they were going to try to use a Tony Hawk game or Sims 2 at some point. Also, I recall that some of the Tiger Woods games have some level of create a character ability and I would hope that some basketball games would—both quite appropriate for Obama.

Oh yay, the Obama cult has infiltrated my gaming journalism as well. Fucking great.
  • Phelix - February 2, 2009 10:12 a.m.

That sackboy ain't obama, it's Samuel L. Jackson from pulp fiction! Only you might not recognize him since this is one of those rare occasions when he actually smiles. You see? Now where is my money...

HAHAHA I laughed out loud when I saw the LBP Obama, and Oblivion's characters always looked kinda doughy and freakish.

  • Furyspittles - January 30, 2009 11:57 p.m.

WTF? how is it racist? i hate people who point and scream 'RACISM' at every little thing that might, no matter how small the chance, possibly warrant it. And way awesome article :D
