What To Expect When You’re Expecting review

A pregnancy guidebook gets an adaptation to dangle over our cribs in this ensemble piece loose-linking the stories of five mothers-to-be.

Jennifer Lopez is a baby photographer trying to adopt, Cameron Diaz is well-cast as a jolly TV fitness instructor and Anna Kendrick is a food-truck chef facing an unexpected pregnancy, though Elizabeth Banks steals the laughs as a baby boutique owner.

But its overview of the baby experience is obscured by a family-values lens – no single/same-sex parents - resulting in an awful ensemble comedy to complete that Valentine’s Day / New Year’s Eve box-set, complete with sexist clichés.
