Above: Master Chief’s real name is John. He was stolen from his parents and before he was conscripted into the SPARTAN II program

"We're excited to bring this gripping novel to life in graphic fiction form," said Ruwan Jayatilleke, Marvel Senior Vice President, Development & Planning, Print, Animation and Digital Media. "The Halo universe has produced some of the most compelling science fiction action epics of the century and Fall of Reach is right up there. If you've never experienced Halo before, this is a great place to jump on board."

Ruwan Jayatilleke has the longest job title i have even seen:
Marvel Senior Vice President, Development & Planning, Print, Animation and Digital Media.

LOL Wonder how tiny the print is on his business cards.

then just how old ARE you then?
To all those guys that say they don't rread graphic novels really should. You'd be surprised how well games and comics complement each other,
    (mostly)

it isn't overwriting, that's what comics do, they explore and exploit each and every missing piece to a puzzle, and explore every possible outcome to a story, especially with Marvel's 'what if' titles.
Is that a dollar that woman's holding, if it is, then Master Chief must be AMERICAN

You know JohnnyMeverik I actually thought he was black for a while.

I hate when games get comics, I love the series but dislike the books. To be fair, I have not read any of the novels but don't plan to. I don't consider anything to be considered cannon to the series unless it is the game, movie, or book, depending on the medium it was first introduced.

Jeez, the Halo story hate on GR is as strong as ever. To each their own I guess, but for a high-profile space FPS, I've always thought it was pretty damn good. Are Mass Effect, Half-Life and *PC game db1331 enjoys" better? Generally, yeah. But I think someone can enjoy both "Harry Potter" and "Lord of the Rings" at the same time.

I've never been a big fan of the Halo novels that have John/Master Chief in a starring ro same le (First Strike, The Flood, Fall of Reach). I enjoyed Contact Harvest (Sgt. Johnson) and Cole Protocol (Capt. Keyes) far more. So I don't know how to feel about this.

    @Vitoruss1

I don't get it. Why is the name "John" so horrible? Would naming him Xavier or Wolfgang somehow make him cooler?

I like that idea. A potential Marvel/Disney backed Halo movie would be great.

The origin is that he's Sylvester Stallone as John Spartan from Demolition Man.

Oh wow, looks like the Master Chief is shaping up to be more generic than ever. I read the novel 'Fall of Reach' for a project in the third grade, I shit you not, and even back THEN I was pissed that they gave the Master Chief, this incredible, mysterious, dangerous and brilliant character the dumbass generic name "John."
Nowadays I despise Halo but still shed tears that the genius of the first game couldn't continue. If only the Chief that I remember got a better treatment than those two shit-ass things they call sequels.

Hopefully the comic won't use any words with more than two syllables. That would alienate a large portion of their fan base.
