Nanny State
Joining the list of sequels we could live without is Nanny McPhee And The Big Bang, especially if the title is giving you the same image it's giving us. According to Variety Emma Thompson is back on board to once again star as the creepier Mary Poppins, with Maggie Gyllenhaal, Rhys Ifans, Maggie Smith and Asa Butterfield also in the cast. The sequel tells the story a group of kids who are evacuated from the city to a farm during wartime. Brit helmer Susanna White will make her feature film debut as director.

Piranha 3D
And if Hollywood isn’t sequelling, it’s remaking. Variety reports that Elizabeth (Hollow Man) Shue is set to avoid becoming fish food in director Alexandre Aja long-gestating 3D overhaul of the Joe Dante-directed 1978 horror movie Piranha. But why not remake the James Cameron-directed Piranha 2 instead? That had flying piranha – surely a much better bet for 3D?

Sorcerer’s Apprentice
Crave Online has some on-set pics of the filming of the modern update of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice in Manhattan’s Chinatown. Seems that Nic Cage is determined to find the role that requires him to wear the dodgiest wig – this one beats his Ghost Rider syrup hands down. Meanwhile, Jay Baruchel (the apprentice) just looks a bit bewildered by the whole affair. Actually, it looks rather intriguing – will the film have a bit of a Neal Gaiman vibe? Or is that just wishful thinking?

Whedon Pessimistic About Dollhouse’s Future
Joss Whedon is not hopeful about a second season for Dollhouse, reports Sci Fi Wire . "The chances are not very good but in limbo. Obviously our numbers are pretty soft, and there it is, but we live in hope. I'm really proud of the episodes that are coming out. More than that, I can't really ask."

Is That It For The Sarah Connor Chronicles?
The finalé episode of the Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles’ second season aired last Friday in the States, and according to Entertainment Weekly blogger Mike Ausiello , it was also almost certainly the last episode ever: "'It's done,' maintains a source close to the show. 'Everyone has pretty much known for a couple of weeks.' Adds a network insider: 'Consider it cancelled.'"
